Governing Board

The Governing Board consists of five members:

- two members are appointed on behalf of the founder by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, one upon the proposal of the ministry responsible for science and one upon the proposal of the ministry responsible for the economy;

- two members are appointed by the Scientific Council from among the Institute’s users or representatives of the interested public;

- one member is elected by the employees of the Institute from among themselves.

The term of office of the members of the Institute’s Governing Board is four years.

 

Scientific Council

The Scientific Council considers and decides on matters relating to the Institute’s professional and scientific activities. It prepares the professional basis for research programmes, elects researchers to scientific-research and research-development titles, and proposes the long-term strategic directions of the Institute’s research and development activities.

 

Director

The work and operations of the Institute are managed by the Director, who also serves as the Institute’s scientific and professional head. The Director is appointed and dismissed by the Institute’s Governing Board, subject to the approval of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia. The Director’s term of office is five years.

Since 20 May 2011, the Institute has been headed by Assoc. Prof. Dr Matjaž Godec.
