A Multi-regional Centre of Excellence Advanced Metallic Materials (CoE AMM) is a high-quality multidisciplinary group of researchers from research institutes, university, and industry. It is a source of a critical mass of knowledge in the field of metallic materials and technologies and has an appropriate research infrastructure with highly skilled professionals. Apart from the leading institution of the CoE AMM (the Institute of Metals and Technology), the following groups are included as equal partners: the Jožef Stefan Institute, the Laboratory for Vacuum Optoelectronics, the Surface Technology and Optoelectronics Department of the IMT, the International Centre for Permanent Development, the independent researcher Dr. Varužan Kevorkijan, the Materials and Metallurgy Department of the Faculty of Natural Science and Engineering, University of Ljubljana, along with well-established experts from industrial organisations and enterprises, respectively, e.g.: Impol, Acroni, Iskra-Mehanizmi and Štore-Steel.
